Takashi Murakami is an internationally acclaimed contemporary Japanese artist also known as 'the Warhol of Japan'. His work includes paintings, prints, and sculptures as well as commercial merchandise, fashion, and animation. He is most known for his contemporary art movement 'Superflat' in which he depicts both the characteristics of traditional Japanese art and post-war Japanese culture and society. In the space of half a century, Murakami has written a whole new chapter on contemporary art. Murakami supports and manages Japanese local young artists through his company Kaikai Kiki. Murakami has also collaborated with famous brands and artists, such as Louis Vuitton, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Doraemon, Drake (OVO clothing) and most recently Virgil Abloh (Head of Louis Vuitton Menswear).
